في بداية طريقي، كناشطة شبابية ومتطوعة مع عدة مؤسسات، ثم عضو مجلس قروي، واليوم أعمل موظفة في مؤسسة "بيالارا "الهيئة الفلسطينية للإعلام وتفعيل دور الشباب، هذه التجارب فتحت أمامي أبوابًا عديدة للمشاركة في المؤتمرات واللقاءات الوطنية، وأكسبتني القدرة على الملاحظة والتفكير بصوتٍ عالٍ...والنقد البناء.
ومن هذا المنطلق، أود تسليط الضوء على ظاهرة لافتة – بل مؤسفة – باتت تتكرر في معظم الفعاليات والمؤتمرات التي نحضرها، ولا أدري إن كنت ألاحظها وحدي، أم أن كثيرين يشاركونني نفس التساؤل.
المشهد يتكرر: يُعقد المؤتمر، يتم الحشد، تُسجّل أسماء الحضور، ويصل صُنّاع القرار، تُلقى كلمات ترحيبية، ويعلو التصفيق، وتُقال عبارات الشكر والثناء على وجود الشخصيات الاعتبارية، ثم يبدأ "فن الاختفاء".
نعم، ما إن يُنهي أحدهم كلمته أو مداخلته، حتى يغادر القاعة لأسباب متعددة: التزامات أخرى، مواعيد مسبقة، انشغالات طارئة، أصبح الأمر مألوفًا جدًا، فبين المنصّة والباب، هناك خطوة واحدة فقط، تفصل بين حضور المسؤول لقاعة الفعالية وغيابه عند اقتراح التوصيات.
ولا أدري، ما العنوان المناسب لهذا المشهد؟
هل أقول: "إلى أين؟"
أم أكتب: "ابقَ للنهاية... قد تسمعنا"؟
العناوين متعددة، لكن الظاهرة واحدة، والإشكالية مستمرة.
والسؤال الكبير الذي يفرض نفسه:
لماذا يغادر الكثير من المشاركين الرسميين قبل انتهاء الفعالية؟
ألا يمكن تخصيص وقت كامل لمؤتمر يُناقش قضايا مجتمعية وقرارات سياسية أو اجتماعية ،صحية واقتصادية وغيرها من المجالات؟
ألسنا جميعًا بحاجة إلى أكثر من كلمات بروتوكولية وصور تذكارية؟
إننا لا نطلب الكثير، نريد فقط حضورًا نوعيًا، لا شكليًا، نريد منكم أن تسمعونا، لا فقط أن تُلقوا كلمة وتغادروا، أن تُشاركوا، لا فقط أن تُوقّعوا في دفتر الحضور، أن تساهموا معنا في صياغة التوصيات، لا أن تقرؤوها لاحقًا من تقرير لم تكونوا جزءًا منه.
ونحن نُدرك تمامًا أن لديكم التزامات كثيرة، وأن وقتكم ثمين، ولكن حضوركم الكامل من البداية إلى النهاية يُحدث فرقًا، ويعكس اهتمامًا حقيقيًا.

ما يزيد من تساؤلنا أن بعض الضيوف الأجانب – ممن لديهم أيضًا وظائف ومواعيد – يحرصون على البقاء حتى آخر دقيقة.
أليس لديهم التزامات؟ أم أن لديهم إدراكًا أعمق لقيمة الاستماع والانخراط في النقاشات؟
ربما نجهل بعض التفاصيل، وربما هناك ظروف لا نراها.
لكن، تبقى هناك حقيقة واحدة لا يمكن إنكارها:
كيف لك أن ترحل... دون أن تسمع؟
في كل مرة يتكرر فيها هذا المشهد، يتجدد السؤال... ويتجدد الاستغراب.
فإلى متى سيبقى الحال على ما هو عليه؟

Stay Until the End, Dear Decision-Maker

At the beginning of my journey, I was a youth activist and a volunteer with several organizations. Later, I became a member of a village council, and today I work as an employee at PYALARA – the Palestinian Youth Association foe leadership and Rights Activation. These experiences opened many doors for me to attend conferences and national meetings, and they taught me how to observe, think out loud, and give constructive feedback.

From this experience, I want to highlight a concerning issue that keeps happening in most events and conferences we attend. I don’t know if I’m the only one who notices it, or if many others feel the same.

Here’s the common scene:

The event starts, people are gathered, names are registered, and decision-makers arrive. Welcoming speeches are given, people clap, and guests of honor are praised. Then… the “art of disappearing” begins.

Yes, right after a speech or short talk, some leave the hall. They say it’s due to other meetings, busy schedules, or sudden tasks. This has become very normal. Just one step between the stage and the door — and they’re gone before any recommendations are even discussed.

What should we call this scene?

Should we ask: “Where are you going?”

Or write: “Stay until the end… you might hear us”?

There are many possible titles, but the issue is the same. And the big question remains:

Why do many officials leave before the end of the event?

Can’t they give full time to a conference discussing social, political, health, or economic issues?

We don’t ask for much. We just want real presence — not just formal attendance.

We want you to listen, not just speak.

We want you to participate, not just sign your name and leave.

We want you to help create the recommendations — not just read them later in a report you weren’t part of.

We understand you’re busy, and your time is valuable. But staying from start to finish truly makes a difference and shows real care.

What makes this more confusing is that some international guests, who also have jobs and schedules, make sure to stay until the very end.

Don’t they have other responsibilities too? Or do they simply understand better the value of listening and joining the discussion?

Maybe there are reasons we don’t see. But one truth stays the same:

How can you leave… without hearing us?

Every time this happens again, we wonder… and feel surprised once more.

So, how long will this continue?
